SAFETY
Addalock Travel Lock (Portable Door Lock)
I don’t go on any travels without the Addalock travel lock. This lock helps me feel secure when staying in hotels and Airbnbs because it locks the door from the inside. I always put it on the door just before bed. Even if someone has a key, they won’t be able to open the door with the Addalock in place. If you’d like to buy a package of two, go here.

TSA Luggage Locks
I’m one for always locking my luggage. Not necessarily for the flights but since I tend to stay in Airbnbs a lot I like to keep certain pockets of my luggage locked at all times. Unfortunately, locking luggage can cause issues when traveling so I use the Tarris TSA Locks. I love them because the lock is flexible and not hard. In addition, it’s made for the TSA process so TSA agents have a key or code (or something!) that allows them to open the locks, if necessary.
Money Belt with RDF Sleeves
It’s no secret that you shouldn’t carry everything in one place when traveling but how do you do that? Well, have some cash and one card in a purse or book bag that you carry. Put the rest in a money belt that is kept snuggly under your clothes.
This Alpha Keeper Money Belt is the business. I’ve had as much as cash, passports and an additional credit card in it all at once. It isn’t bulky or tight, probably due to the separate pockets. I also love that it comes with RDF sleeves for credit cards and passports which I, actually, use constantly.

Tablets
When my iPad gave up on me I wanted another tablet because I didn’t want to carry heavy books as we travel. I also wanted something with great parental controls so I tried the Fire 8 HD with Alexa (without special offers). This Fire 8 does everything I want at a fraction of the price of the iPad. I’m an iPad lover but if something happened to our Kindles on travels, I wouldn’t be devastated due to the cost (unlike if something happened to an iPad).
The size of this Fire 8 is perfect for traveling and book reading. The parental controls are out of this world. It allows us to read while traveling without the weight. We can even access our library’s ebook collection through an app. I love the blue light feature so my eyes aren’t stressed when reading before bed. We’re able to watch everything we used to watch on the iPad like Netflix, Hulu, and more. I could go on and on but I’m stopping…I promise!
BOOKS
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks
This book is all about how people self sabotage the amazing things that happen in their lives because they aren’t “used” to having such things happen or aren’t used to the feelings that go along with having amazing changes in their lives.
This book has helped me so much through this journey of preparing to move abroad and even with things that have happened since I’ve moved. I now have the awareness of why I have (and sometimes still) respond in certain ways and how to move through it. If you are looking to make big changes or wonder why you always want (to do) something but can’t seem to make it happen fully then this is for you!
Abundance Now by Lisa Nichols
Abundance Now is about exactly what the title states; how to create abundance in every area of your life now. The secret to this book is that it’s really an undercover workbook with a lot of personal stories and “real deal” talk.
This book truly kicked off everything for me around shutting down all my talk with no action. Through reading this book I began to actually take steps to create a life I truly desired.
